Sunday September 28th 2025 

“Vienna and the New World”

Music for four hands at one piano. Piano duetists Marianne Kelly and Heather Sargeson present a programme of classic music for four hands at one piano by Mozart and Schubert and new classics by Barber and Gershwin. Fresh from Buxton Festival the players have enjoyed a distinguished career of performing music for four hands at one piano.

 

Sunday October 19th 2025

“A journey to the Edge of Reason”  takes the audience through an exciting musical narrative, tracing the shift between the end of the Baroque era and the dawn of Enlightenment, where worlds collide and a new musical genre starts to emerge. Music by J.S. Bach, Kirnberger, Quantz, Frederic the Great and C.P.E. Bach.

Haydn “Creation”  Parts 1&2

The Amici Chorus and Orchestra join international artists in a performance of this glorious oratorio, directed by Grenville Hancox.

“Old Christmas Returned: Music, Words and Song for Christmas”

A selection of carols, ballads, consort music, lute songs, dance melodies and readings. A seasonal programme following the calendar from Advent to Candlemas and showing how Christmas was celebrated, banned and restored in 17th Century England. Includes music by Attey, Bull, Dowland, Gibbons, Locke and Purcell; and readings by Breton, Herrick, Shakespeare and Winstanley.

Kosmos Ensemble
